Responding to today’s announcement that Steve Fox (pictured centre) is leaving Booker after 17 years, NFRN National President Stuart Reddish said: “We are sorry to hear about his departure. We would like to thank Steve for the huge support he has given both the NFRN and the independent retail sector during that time and we wish him all the best for the future.”

Colm Johnson will become managing director of Booker Retail Group when Mr Fox departs in September.

Mr Reddish added: “Booker chief executive Charles Wilson contacted me today to advise of Steve leaving and of Colm’s promotion to managing director of the Booker Retail Group. I will be meeting with Steve and Colm between now and September and am excited about continuing the strong working relationship that the NFRN currently enjoys with Booker.”

Commenting, Booker CEO Charles Wilson said: “Steve Fox has done a fantastic job for Booker and the retailers we serve. We wish him and MFG the very best for the future. Colm Johnson takes over where Steve has left off. Colm has a deep understanding of our retailers and the progress we need to make to continue earning the support and partnership of our retail customers.”
