The NFRN has cautiously welcomed the news that Smiths News has agreed a new long term contract with the UK’s largest magazine distributor, Frontline.

The five year contract will run from 2020 through to 2025.

This latest win comes shortly after Smiths News announced that it had secured a contract with Sun and Times publisher News UK.

In a statement, Smiths News chief executive Jonathan Bunting said: “We are delighted to confirm this new agreement with Frontline. Long term partnerships are central to our business model, allowing us to drive efficiencies and deliver great service for publishers, retailers, and ultimately for millions of consumers across the UK.”

NFRN Head of News Brian Murphy commented: “Ensuring a sustainable route to market is paramount and this is an important step towards achieving that.”
