Menzies Distribution has secured a major primary distribution deal to collect all daily and regional weekly newspapers printed by the UK’s largest news publisher, Reach plc,and deliver them to all wholesale distribution locations across the whole of the UK.
The deal, which will see Menzies Distribution deliver both Reach-owned titles and those printed on behalf of third parties, is the first of its kind in the UK. It forms part of Menzies Distribution’s commitment to support its Newstrade customers at every point in the supply chain.

Reacting to the announcement, NFRN Head of News Brian Murphy said: “This is positive news for our members as it can only improve communication in the supply chain and keep the pressure on publishers to print sooner.”
Reach plc, formerly Trinity Mirror, owns the Daily Mirror, Sunday People, Daily Record and market leading regional titles including the Manchester Evening News, Liverpool Echo, Birmingham Mail and Bristol Post.

Menzies will start providing the new service in England and Wales from September 2018.
