Besides raising the cover prices of both the Guardian and its sister paper, the Observer, and maintaining the retail margin to ensure that stockists fully benefit from the increases that take effect from 12 January 2019, the publisher has unveiled details of a new subscription offer.

Guardian POS in storeRunning until February 28th this new scheme enables NFRN members to offer their Guardian customers a substantial 30% saving on the titles via a subscription package. This enhanced discount is available to a limited number of retailers only.

This is an ideal way to actively approach your existing Guardian customers and lock them into future sales. It is a win win all round.

  • Your customer gains a significant saving
  • You receive full margin and profit via a voucher system
  • Vouchers can be redeemed either via your news wholesaler in the normal way or electronically, whichever works best for you
  • The publisher retains a customer and a sale

Subscriptions are a proven way of locking in customers for a set period of time. In this instance your customer will be asked to take a minimum 3 month subscription.

To take part in this offer please register your interest with NFRN Connect on 0800 121 6376. You will receive an in store POS pack consisting of customer leaflets, posters (A3 and A1), shelf talker and plinth newspaper dispenser.

All you have to do is display the POS in store and actively talk to your Guardian and Observer customers about the offer and the savings they could be making. Don’t forget to remind them that you won’t be missing out financially as the publisher covers the difference.

Anybody registering for the scheme will be entered into a prize draw with a chance to win £500.
