Menzies Systems Failure – 7 February 2018

Menzies apologises for systems failure which has resulted in customers not been able to make any online claims this morning.

9.05pm – The very latest directly from Menzies
Further to this morning’s distribution update please be advised that our third party communications provider has identified and resolved the issue that led to the system failures across our network last night. Our IT department and senior operational personnel have been monitoring the situation throughout the day to ensure the earliest possible resolution was reached.

We have contacted branches across the country and tested the connections successfully. The network links have been constant since being re-established this afternoon, however, we will have contingency packing sheets produced in advance at all branches for a period until the solution is proven to be stable.

12.45pm – Call NFRN Connect to make a claim
This morning, during critical hours, many Menzies Distribution branches suffered a system failure which meant their packing systems were unavailable. Contingency plans were initiated to minimise disruption.

We understand that during this time, call waiting times may be higher and i-Menzies may be intermittently unavailable. For this reason, for today only, as an NFRN member if you have a claim, you can call NFRN Connect where claims will be collated and then passed to Menzies Distribution. Please aim to have all claims submitted by 5pm today (Wednsday).


9.03am – Menzies Systems Failure – 7 February 2018
Due to a systems failure across the network at a critical time period for packing live news, notable disruption to distribution has been experienced today (Wednesday). Full contingency back up plans were initiated that has minimised disruption. However, high call volumes are being experienced at the Linwood contact centre resulting in delays being experienced by callers.

Further updates will follow in due course.

Voucher Returns via Bow Branch

With effect from Monday 8 January 2018, all vouchers which were previously processed at the Bow branch will now be scanned at the Menzies Maidstone branch.

For those customers who currently send vouchers by post or recorded delivery, can you please now address them to:-

Allocation notification notices

Allocation notification notices are available online via iMenzies. However, members can opt in to receive hard copies if they require them.


Have your say on iMenzies

Menzies Distribution are currently looking at enhancing their iMenzies offer.

In order to ensure that these enhancements are in line with customers requirements they are looking for feedback and suggestions from retailers.

This can be done by completing the online survey.

There is also a comments section at the end of the survey for your suggestions.

This is a real opportunity to let the wholesaler know what you require, so please spare a few minutes of your time to have your say.

Linwood Distribution Changes

Following on from a letter sent by Menzies to customers on 1 May 2017, the wholesaler has confirmed they are ready to go live with their forthcoming distribution changes on Monday, 15 May 2017.

You don’t need to do anything to enable these changes.

NFRN gives Menzies and DX merger a cautious thumbs up

The NFRN has given a cautious welcome to the news that John Menzies is discussing merging its newspaper and magazine distribution arm, Menzies Distribution, with DX Group.
